Russian Deputy Minister of Defense Alexei Krivoruchko, during a visit to the Progress aircraft factory, announced that by 2022 a new modification of the Ka-52 Alligator helicopter would be created, which would receive the name Ka-52М.

Krivoruchko clarified that this upgraded attack helicopter was created, considering the use of helicopters in Syria in a combat situation. Development work is ongoing.
