Palestinians attacked an Israeli F-15 fighter four times from the Strela-2M MANPADS

The Palestinians fired four anti-aircraft missiles at an Israeli F-15 fighter jet.

A few days ago, an unmanned aerial vehicle was launched from the territory of the Gaza Strip towards Israel, which was used as a bait. When an Israeli F-15 fighter approached him, the Palestinians fired 4 anti-aircraft missiles from the Strela-2M MANPADS from the ground, however, they could not shoot down the Israeli fighter.

Video footage taken by the Palestinians shows four anti-aircraft guided missiles being fired at an Israeli aircraft. Apparently, after the launch of the first two, the fighter pilot noticed the attack and began to shoot false thermal targets. During the launch of the third and fourth missiles, success was also not achieved - the third missile fell into a heat trap, and the fourth exploded in the air for no apparent reason.

The presence of old Soviet MANPADS in service with the Palestinians creates quite serious difficulties in defeating Israeli aircraft. However, it is quite likely that more modern MANPADS could also be handed over to the Palestinians, for example, in response to Israel's supply of ammunition for the Ukrainian army.
