The suspect in the arson of a Ka-32 helicopter in Moscow could receive up to 3 million rubles

In Moscow, the investigation into the arson incident of a Ka-32 helicopter at the Ostafyevo airfield continues. One of the detained suspects, 22-year-old Roman Yakovets from the Rostov region, boasted to his friends about a significant amount of money on the eve of the event. According to witnesses, he showed a screenshot from a mobile bank with three million rubles in his account and the comment “this is how you have to squirm.”

Yakovets's friends were surprised by his sudden wealth, since the young man had recently returned from the army and was known as a party organizer in Rostov. The suspect, along with four other young men and a girl, was detained by FSB officers on suspicion of arson.

A Ka-32 helicopter belonging to the Moscow Aviation Center was set on fire in the airport parking lot. The fire, which occurred on the night of April 25-26, covered about 30 square meters. Evidence indicating a deliberate arson was found at the scene, including a liter bottle of flammable liquid and a tire iron.

The investigation into the suspected terrorist attack continues as authorities try to establish the motive for the crime and the origin of the funds mentioned by Yakovets. A criminal case has been opened under the article “Terrorist attack”; the suspects face serious sentences if their guilt is proven.
