It should be clarified that the purpose of the appearance of the American military aircraft near the Khmeimim airbase is still unknown, however. experts believe that this may be due to two different factors - to obtain information about the Russian Aerospace Forces grouping at the Khmeimim airbase and to try to interfere with the work of the Russian S-400 air defense systems, especially since they were located at a relatively small distance from the Khmeimim airbase. and Israeli fighters.

It should be noted that the US military performs 3-4 missions a week near the Khmeimim airbase, creating provocations, however, the incident that happened two days earlier demonstrates Russia's readiness to resist at all levels.
