The Russian military built a huge pontoon bridge 5 kilometers from the border with Ukraine

The Russian military has built a huge pontoon bridge over the Pripyat just 5 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

Satellite images have shown that as part of ongoing military exercises in Belarus, the Russian military built a huge pontoon crossing over the Pripyat River. The pontoon bridge, almost 200 meters long, was built just 5 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. It could well have been used by the Russian side as a safety net in case Kiev unleashed hostilities against Russia or in the Donbass. The bridge was reportedly built between February 14 and 15, according to satellite imagery.

The presented satellite imagery shows the erected pontoon crossing, located approximately 5 kilometers north of the Ukrainian border. Moreover, it is noteworthy that the bridge was built on the territory of the Polessky Radiation-Ecological Reserve, where the Allied Resolve exercises should not be practiced, which caused a number of questions in this regard.

It should be noted that within the framework of the ongoing exercises, the Russian and Belarusian military worked out various tasks, including those related to the transfer of troops to hard-to-reach areas. In this regard, the construction of a pontoon bridge may well be associated precisely with the implementation of this task.
