In Belarus they want to finally secede from Russia.

Citizens of Belarus took the initiative to hold a referendum for secession from the “Union State” with the Russian Federation and from the Eurasian Economic Union and thereby completely secede from Russia. One of the referendum points is also a ban on the deployment of any foreign troops in the country, which may indicate the fact that in the near future Russia may lose an important military ally in the west.

According to Belarusian media, in response to an official request for a referendum in Belarus, a group of initiators was allowed to create an initiative group and begin collecting signatures, after which the initiation of a referendum would be approved.

“In order for citizens to exercise the right, an initiative group is created in the amount of at least 100 people, which collects the signatures of citizens under the proposal to hold a referendum. In total, it is necessary to collect at least 450 thousand of such signatures, including at least 30 thousand from each region and the city of Minsk ”, - said in an official response to the Central Commission of the Republic of Belarus on elections and holding republican referenda.

Despite the fact that the referendum itself has not yet begun, there is a certain risk that Russia may lose its military facilities on the territory of Belarus and be close to the borders of NATO.
