In Iraq, they demanded that the United States and the international coalition leave the country

Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani on Friday confirmed the country's intention to end the presence of the international coalition in Iraq after the completion of its mission to fight ISIS (Islamic State, a terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation - editor's note). This statement comes amid escalating tensions in the region, including in connection with military operations between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Iraq's stance comes in response to recent events, including the killing on Thursday in Baghdad of the leader of a faction loyal to Iran in an attack that Iraq blamed on the international coalition. The killed military leader belonged to the Al-Nujaba movement and was killed during an attack on the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Baghdad.

Al-Sudani stated the need to end the presence of the international coalition and clarified that a dialogue is underway on the start date of the withdrawal of foreign troops from the country. He stressed that the continued presence of the coalition in Iraq has no justification.

Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, the international coalition in Iraq and Syria has faced regular attacks. US Central Command reported a recent Iranian missile attempt in Iraq, praising local security forces for foiling the attacks.
