In the US, talked about the deployment of nuclear warheads in Europe

The deployment of cruise missiles in Europe, the United States justify the Russian threat

From the statement of the senior director of the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Interaction, Brian McKeon, as reported by RIA Novosti, it follows that the United States, having failed to withdraw from the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles due to violations allegedly committed by Russia, already intends deploy their cruise missiles in Europe.

Of course, it is not advisable for the former deputy head of the Pentagon to admit that the United States is pursuing a frankly aggressive policy. For this reason, referring to the deployment of missiles in the EU, he refers to the need to do this in order to “convince Russia to return to the framework of the INF Treaty”.

McKeon says he doubts the desire of the United States of America for the “nuclear option.” He assures that terrestrial systems will not be nuclear. The Americans, in his opinion, there are other opportunities. However, the US can choose countermeasures to convince Russia to "act prudently and save the treaty."

The former deputy head of the Pentagon assumes that due to the termination of the Treaty, Russia will be able to deploy 9М729 missiles that can carry a threat to Western Europe, as well as to US forces stationed there. At the same time, McKeon is silent that no one has addressed any requests to the United States to break the INF.

Both the United States and Europe know that Russia will have to respond to such steps. There is no doubt that Moscow will deploy similar missiles where it is most convenient to strike at NATO forces. But for some reason, the deployment of cruise missiles by the Americans is considered “defense against Russia”, and Moscow’s response measures are going to be considered as aggression. That is, Washington is simply pushing the world towards a new arms race. There is no guarantee that it will end the same way as the previous one.
