The arsonists of the Russian Ka-32 helicopter at the Ostafyevo airfield were detained

The Russian Federal Security Service announced the detention of a group of young people suspected of setting fire to a Ka-32 helicopter at the Moscow Ostafyevo airfield. According to Baza, the detainees include four young men and one girl, all of them arrived in the capital from different regions of Russia.

The list of detainees included: 22-year-old Bulgakov N. from the Novosibirsk region, 22-year-old Yamskov D. from Norilsk, 21-year-old Khamidullin S. from Novosibirsk, 22-year-old Yakovets R. from the Rostov region and 19-year-old Mochalina A. from Norilsk.

Events unfolded on the night of April 25-26, when unknown persons set fire to a helicopter belonging to the State Treasury Institution “Moscow Aviation Center”. Firefighters at Ostafyevo Airport quickly dealt with the fire, whose area was about 30 square meters.

According to the investigation, the helicopter was undergoing maintenance and was covered with a protective cover at the time of the arson. Specialists at the scene found a number of items indicating preparations for arson: a bag for replacement shoes, a liter bottle with flammable liquid, a tire iron, barbed wire, a scarf and gloves.

A criminal case of terrorism was opened into the incident.
