There are currently active battles between Russian and Ukrainian militaries as part of an ongoing special military operation. Recently, there has been an aggravation of the situation in the area of ​​the city of Chasov Yar, located on the territory of the DPR.

The Russian Armed Forces have taken another step towards encircling Chasov Yar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), liberating the village of Bogdanovka near Artemovsk. Advisor to the head of the DPR Igor Kimakovsky told TASS about this.

“The liberation of Bogdanovka opens up new strategic opportunities for our forces, which are another step towards encircling Chasov Yar”, - he said.

Kimakovsky added that the current location of Russian forces makes it possible to expand the fire control zone of Chasov Yar. As the North Military District map shows, today the Russian military is significantly increasing pressure on the positions of the Ukrainian army.

An officer of the Rubezh brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, Vladimir Chernyak, said that Russian troops have made significant progress near Chasovy Yar, and fighting is taking place in the vicinity of the city. According to him, Russian troops are encircling Chasov Yar on both sides; they have already gained a foothold in Bogdanovka, north of the city, and on the southern flank, fighting is taking place in the vicinity of Ivanovsky, which is an outpost in front of Chasov Yar.

Chernyak also noted that Russian troops are attacking north of Ivanovsky, despite the fact that the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are located at commanding heights. However, as Ukrainian experts admit, the National Guard officer does not say anything about Ivanovsky; according to the latest data, the Ukrainian Armed Forces there control only the western outskirts, everything else is under Russian troops.
