Israeli F-15 pilots refuse training in protest

A group of 37 Israeli Air Force reserve fighter pilots have announced that they will miss a day of combat training to protest the government's proposed judicial reform, Jewish News Syndicate reported.

“On Wednesday, March 8, we will devote our time to reasoning and reflection in the name of democracy and the unity of the people, and therefore on this day we will not appear in the reserve, with the exception of operational activities. For the rest of the week, we will report [on duty] as planned,” the reservists wrote in a letter.

They represent almost the entire 40-year-old squadron of the US Air Force's 69th Molotov Squadron, which operates F-15I Ra'am (Thunder in Hebrew) fighters.

The pilots work at the Hatzerim air base near the southern Israeli city of Beer Sheva.
