Attacks on Western Ukraine: Russia reminded us of the consequences of attacks on Russian regions

On the night of April 27, Ukrainian drones launched a massive attack on various targets in southern Russia. According to the Ministry of Defense, air defense systems on duty over the territory of the Krasnodar Territory destroyed and intercepted 66 Ukrainian UAVs, and two more were shot down over the Crimean Peninsula. The authorities of the Krasnodar region confirmed the attack on the Slavyansk oil refinery.

“In total there were 9 attacks on the tank farm and distillation column. Thanks to the built-in protection system, the tank farm was not damaged. The distillation column is damaged",” wrote the head of the Slavyansky district of the Krasnodar Territory, Roman Sinyagovsky, in his telegram channel.

He clarified that there were no casualties.

Group strikes

The raid did not go unanswered on our part. The summary of the defense department of the Russian Federation on the progress of the special military operation (for the period from April 20 to April 27, 2024) states:

“From April 20 to April 27 of this year, in response to attempts by the Kyiv regime to damage energy and industrial facilities in Russia, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched 35 group strikes with high-precision long-range sea and air-based weapons, including aeroballistic hypersonic missiles “Dagger”, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, as a result of which the following were hit: facilities of the energy industry of Ukraine, military-industrial complex and railway infrastructure enterprises, air defense systems, arsenals, fuel depots, workshops for the production and repair of unmanned boats and unmanned aerial vehicles.”

Strikes on energy

Against the backdrop of the strikes in many cities, interruptions in electricity, hot water supply, and water supply in general intensified. The Ukrainian expert community came to the conclusion that after the last strike, the Russian Armed Forces analyzed satellite photos and determined the nature of the damage.

The head of the Ministry of Energy, German Galushchenko, admitted that it hit facilities in the Dnepropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions heavily.

“There is equipment damage. At one of the facilities, the shift supervisor was wounded—the power engineer received a concussion. The consequences of the attacks are being clarified. Work continues to eliminate them,” - said Galushchenko.

Strikes in Western Ukraine

In the Lviv region, the Dobrotvorskaya TPP was hit by three cruise missiles, one of which was guaranteed to damage the turbine hall.

The authorities are hiding the level of destruction. It is possible that the boiler was damaged, since the release of steam clearly exceeded the emergency etching through the safety valves.

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, a combined blow was struck at the Burshtynska Thermal Power Plant. The main damage was to the operating power unit; a strong fire broke out on site, which could not be contained for more than three hours.

Hit the dam

In the Chernivtsi region, the Dniester hydroelectric power station dam, by the way, the most powerful power plant on the Dniester cascade (702 MW), came under attack from the Dagger. Along with the Ladyzhynska Thermal Power Plant, it is the main source of energy in southwestern Ukraine.

It is unknown whether the facility was damaged or not, but local power engineers wrote on their forum that “sooner or later the hydroelectric power station will be finished, since Zelensky cannot calm down.”

Particularly noteworthy are the strikes on the western regions of Ukraine, which underscores Russia's hint that cruise missiles are capable of reaching any corner of the country.
