The cost of air tickets for domestic flights may be reduced by 8%.

The government of the Russian Federation will consider today a bill to reduce the VAT rate from 18 to 10%. Such an initiative has been discussed for almost half a year, and if the decision is approved, then air travel for passengers on domestic routes can seriously fall in price.

It is important to note the fact that initially it was supposed to make the VAT rate minimal, actually zeroing it, however, most likely, the requirements of Russian air carriers will only partially be satisfied, however, according to the opinions of the management of several airlines, this step is already an effective measure.

However, the reduction in the VAT rate for air travel will be exclusively temporary, as expected until 2017.
