To enter Latvia, Russian citizens are required to sign a statement condemning the Russian authorities

Russians began to face egregious requirements when entering Latvia.

In order to cross the border with Latvia, citizens of the Russian Federation have to sign a statement condemning the actions of the Russian authorities. In case of refusal to sign the relevant document, Russian citizens will be prohibited from crossing the Latvian border, and in addition, there is a risk of being included in some kind of “black list”. This is a flagrant violation on the part of Latvia, however, in Riga they refuse to comment on what is happening at the border.

“In particular, they [citizens of Russia] are being blatantly demanded to sign a certain statement condemning the Russian authorities. In case of refusal to do this, as practice shows, entry can not only be denied, but also blacklisted”- reported in the diplomatic department.

It is not specified what exactly Russian citizens are required to condemn in the actions of the Russian authorities, however, such requirements are imposed exclusively on Russian citizens - in the case of crossing the border by citizens of other countries, such egregious violations are not detected.

It is noteworthy that in the case of signing the relevant application, Russian citizens may begin to bear responsibility already under Russian law.
