Speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force Yuriy Yevlash said that special bunkers and underground infrastructure will be used for basing F-16 fighters. Despite the lack of official information about the presence of these aircraft on Ukrainian territory, sources claim that the construction of relevant facilities is already underway.

It was previously reported that to strengthen air superiority over the territory of Ukraine, it is planned to use Western-made fighters, including F-16. According to some sources, takeoffs and landings of these aircraft can be carried out from highways, rather than traditional runways, which will hide their real location and increase protection from possible attacks.

According to Yevlash, underground shelters and bunkers designed for the F-16 will provide additional protection for fighters and allow the Ukrainian military to more effectively manage air operations without risking the main aircraft.
