Konstantin Molostov, Chairman of the State Border Committee of Belarus, expressed concern about the enhanced control measures carried out by the intelligence services of Latvia and Lithuania at the borders. According to him, attempts to recruit citizens of Russia and Belarus at existing border checkpoints on the part of the Baltic states have been recorded.

As BelTA reports, Molostov noted that the situation at the borders has become more tense due to the activity of foreign special services. “We are seeing not only a tightening of control measures, but also direct attempts to recruit our citizens,” he said.

It should be noted that this is far from the only case. It is known that citizens of Belarus living in the south of the country passed on information about the movement of military equipment across the country and information about the location of air defense systems to the Ukrainian military and their relatives in Ukraine.
