May 17. Libyan airport Benghazi was closed early this morning due to conflict between the military and militants.

Because of the armed clash, there was a threat of bombardment of the airport, and due to current events, the authorities decided to temporarily close it for sending and receiving aircraft. It is assumed that the airport will once again become operational immediately after the military operation against the militants is completed, or, in the event that it drags on, the airport will open its doors as soon as its security is ensured.

It should be noted that flights from Benghazi Airport are regularly carried out in such directions as Tripoli, Dubai, Tunisia, Istanbul, etc.
