Norway announces delivery of 160 AGM-114 missiles and launchers to Ukraine

Norway announced the supply of American missiles AGM-114 to Ukraine.

As part of a new package of arms supplies to Ukraine, Norway announced that it would transfer a large batch of missile weapons to Kyiv. We are talking about the transfer to the Ukrainian military of a batch of 160 AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, as well as launchers for them. Deliveries of high-precision weapons are planned to be completed before the end of this month.

Such weapons have previously been used to strike at Energodar, however, the basic versions of missiles were used, while Norway intends to transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine fairly modern versions of these weapons. Guidance on the target is supposed to be carried out either with GPS coordinates, or with laser target designation.

Despite the fact that such missiles belong to the class of high-precision weapons, experts note that with a relatively short range, such weapons are unlikely to be effective for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and given the active use of electronic warfare systems in Ukraine, the likelihood that missiles in general will be able to hit any targets, it becomes even lower.

How many AGM-114 Hellfire missiles are in service with Norway is unknown.
