Satellite images of the Shaykovka airbase show no damage.

After an unidentified unmanned aerial vehicle exploded on the runway of the air base of long-range bomber aviation in Shaikovka (Kaluga region) the previous afternoon, satellite images were published, allegedly showing the state of the military airfield on October 7, 2022. Satellite images show no evidence of any critical damage.

Satellite images allegedly taken after the explosion at the Shaikovka air base in the Kaluga region show almost the entire territory of the military airfield, however, there are no traces of either the explosion of the drone itself or the destruction of infrastructure.

Despite the fact that the northern part of the military air base could not be seen on satellite images due to cloudiness, experts note that the drone explosion could hardly have caused any significant damage.

At the moment, there are no details regarding the explosion that occurred at the Shaikovka air base - it is known that it was a drone, however, its type has not yet been disclosed. This does not allow us to establish where exactly the drone could have been launched from.
