A Polish soldier who fled to Belarus was found hanged.

A Polish soldier who escaped from Poland to Belarus a few months ago was found hanged. The corpse of a former Polish soldier was found at his place of residence. At the same time, according to a source familiar with the situation, the version of suicide is considered the most likely. Data on the death of a Polish soldier was confirmed by the Investigative Committee of Belarus.

On December 16, 2021, the Polish soldier Emil Chechko asked for political asylum in Belarus because of his disagreement with the ongoing policy of Poland and the practice of inhumane treatment of refugees. Chechko has repeatedly accused Polish military personnel and border guards of killing migrants who illegally entered the territory of Belarus.

At the moment, an investigative examination is being carried out on the fact of the death of a Polish soldier in order to establish all the causes and circumstances of the incident.

At the same time, there is evidence that Chechko was in a state of depression due to pressure from relatives, which could well serve as a motive for committing suicide.
