Theresa May refused to provoke Russia.

As the main reason for the refusal, Theresa May argued that the attack on Syria was not motivated, since the facts proving that Russian military or government forces of the Syrian Arab Republic used prohibited weapons in the country (cluster bombs, chemical weapons and etc.) are absent.

"We will work with our allies ... it is important to assess what exactly happened", - said May.

Military analysts in turn said that in reality the British Prime Minister realized that provoking a conflict with Russia could have serious consequences, while the United Kingdom, if she wanted to send her military aircraft to Syria, probably would have been no more than about 5-6 units.

In turn, it is important to take into account that the situation in Syria remains quite tense, however, Russian military aircraft are brought to full combat readiness and are ready to give the US a worthy rebuff in case of an attack.
