The United States provided Ukraine with weapons that have never been used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 8 months.

The United States decided to transfer to the Ukrainian military weapons that had never been used in Ukraine before, however, attempts to transfer them to the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been repeatedly made. We are talking about a small number of M1097 Avenger complexes, which, however, can play an important role.

At the moment, it is known that the United States has announced the supply of M1097 Avenger systems to Ukraine. Previously, information has repeatedly appeared that such weapons were transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, however, as it turned out, the United States had never supplied them to Kyiv before, and now they can play a key role in the fight against drones.

The Avia.pro specialist draws attention to the fact that when using kamikaze drones, the flight routes of the drones are almost always the same, which allows the Armed Forces to use such weapons to repel attacks.

“The M1097 Avenger is armed with 8 anti-aircraft missiles, each of which is capable of hitting a target at a distance of up to 5,5 kilometers. Considering that drones almost always carry out attacks from the same directions, the deployment of these complexes can play into the hands of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.”, - the analyst notes.

The delivery package includes four highly mobile short-range air defense systems, which are being delivered to Ukraine for the first time, as well as Stinger missiles.
