Turkey launched artillery strikes on the airbase, where Russian Aerospace Forces helicopters were previously seen.

Tonight, the Turkish military opened fire from large-caliber artillery pieces at the Kuveyris military airbase, located in the suburbs of the Syrian city of Aleppo. At least six artillery strikes are known, while earlier it became known that helicopters of the Russian Aerospace Forces were deployed at this airbase, which could well have been here at the time of the Turkish attack.

At the moment, there are suggestions that Turkey launched strikes on the Kuweiris military airfield in response to another missile attack by the Syrian army on a parking lot of smuggled oil trucks, as a result of which about 500 thousand liters of oil were destroyed, as reported by the news agency earlier reported.

By the current moment, it remains unknown whether the Russian military and equipment of the Russian Aerospace Forces were on the territory of the Kuveyris airbase, however, according to analysts, the Russian side could well have retained its presence here due to the close location of Aleppo to the positions of the militants.

At the same time, Sentry Syria reports at least four takeoffs of Russian Aerospace Forces fighters from the Khmeimim airbase at the start of the Turkish strikes, which does not exclude the possibility that the Russian military intervened in the current situation.
