APU installed on the German tank Leopard 2 dynamic protection complex "Contact-1"

According to information received from various sources, the Ukrainian military installed the Kontakt-2 dynamic protection system, which was produced in Russia, on the Leopard 4A1 tank. This protection complex was installed on the tank in order to increase the security of Western military equipment.

Thus, the Leopard 2A4 tank received a new level of protection thanks to the installation of the Russian dynamic protection complex. This complex allows you to protect the tank from anti-tank missiles, grenades and other weapons that can be used in combat conditions.

Avia.pro journalists have obtained photographs showing that the Kontakt-1 complexes are indeed deployed on Leopard 2A4 tanks.

Some experts expressed the opinion that the installation of a Russian complex on a Ukrainian tank may cause some protests among the Ukrainian society, given the attitude towards the use of Russian weapons and, at the moment, protective equipment. Nevertheless, the Armed Forces of Ukraine believe that the installation of this complex on a tank is an important step to increase its combat capability and protection in the conditions of modern hostilities. It is noteworthy that the German Leopard 2A4 tanks do not provide for dynamic protection and the installation of the Kontakt-1 complex can seriously increase the security of these combat vehicles.

Recall that the Leopard 2 tank is a German main battle tank that was put into service in 1980 and was widely used in various conflicts around the world. The Ukrainian army has already received 32 tanks of this type.
