In Slovakia, the deployment of Patriot air defense systems has begun, instead of the S-300, which will be sent to Ukraine

American Patriot air defense systems arrived in Slovakia, which will replace the S-300 air defense systems sent to Ukraine.

A few hours ago, American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems were spotted on the territory of Slovakia, which were sent from the Netherlands and Germany and which by the current hour are already being deployed in several regions of the republic. It is noteworthy that earlier Slovakia publicly announced its readiness to transfer its S-300 air defense systems to Ukraine if the United States or other NATO countries transfer equivalent air defense systems to the country's arsenal. According to foreign sources, medium and short-range air defense systems are allegedly already on their way to Ukraine.

According to Slovak Defense Minister Yaroslav Nagy, American-made complexes will be deployed at the Sliac air base in central Slovakia, which is approximately 230 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. But. judging by unofficial data, the complexes will also be additionally deployed in the eastern part of Slovakia, however, their location is not called.

A little earlier, Slovakia announced that without providing additional air defense systems, the country could not transfer its only division of the S-300 air defense system to Ukraine, however, if modern weapons were provided, Slovakia would be ready to take such a step.

“I understand what Ukraine needs now. We all try to help Ukraine in any way we can. But I am the Minister of Defense of Slovakia and must, above all, meet the needs of the Slovak defense. At the moment, we have the only S-300 system in Slovakia, so I can’t give it away without having an alternative.”- said Yaroslav Nagy.

At the moment, there is no official confirmation of the sending of the S-300 air defense system to Ukraine.
