The US Department of Defense decided not to respond to Shoigu's queries regarding the INF.

The representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that within three days the representatives of the Pentagon did not receive a response to the official request of Sergei Shoigu regarding the dialogue on the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Short-Range Missiles.

“After three days, there wasn’t even a formal reaction to the proposal by the Russian Defense Ministry from the US military department. All this speaks of the unwillingness of the American side of a reasoned and professional dialogue with Russia in the interest of resolving the pressing problems of ensuring regional and global security. ”- says Konashenkov.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Russia was announced an ultimatum, according to which Russia either completely removes missiles violating the INF Treaty and upgrades them to meet the conditions of this treaty, or the United States of America unilaterally withdraw them.

Earlier it was reported that Moscow proposed Beijing to accede to the Treaty on the Elimination of Medium and Small-Range Missiles, but in China the initiative was abandoned.

It should be clarified that, according to the United States, the Russian 9М729 rocket violates the conditions of the INF.
