Britain is trying to force Uzbekistan to end cooperation with Russia

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin expressed the opinion that the purpose of British Foreign Minister David Cameron's recent visit to Uzbekistan was to damage Russia and separate it from its traditional allies. Galuzin told reporters about this on Friday in Tashkent, where he took part in a round of political consultations with the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

According to the Russian diplomat, official London seeks to alienate its foreign partners from Moscow, and these are precisely the goals pursued by Cameron’s visit to the region.

“The goal is to inflict maximum damage on Russia, to tear away from Russia its traditional foreign partners and allies.”,” Galuzin emphasized.

David Cameron, Britain's Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, also visited Mongolia and other Central Asian countries this week as part of his tour. This visit caused acute discontent in Moscow, which sees such actions as a potential threat to its geopolitical interests.

Galuzin expressed confidence that the Uzbek partners “perfectly see the ins and outs” of London’s intentions. However, Uzbekistan has not yet responded to this statement.
