The Su-28. A photo. History. Characteristics.
Su-28 was a training version of the aircraft, created on the basis of Su-25. The original name of the project T-8-UT, it was created to replace the Czechoslovak training and training L-39 Albatros. The prototype on the basis of Su-25 saw the world in the middle of 1987 year. The design of the glider was made easier by eliminating the majority of combat systems. The nose part of the aircraft took the aiming complex, into which the ballast was built. On the plane there was no armor protection pilots. This sample received the index T-8UTM (Su-28M). After the collapse of the Soviet Union came a deep crisis, and the project had to be frozen, and later completely closed. Nevertheless, the work related to the creation of Su-28M, were useful during the design of a full-fledged combat training modification of the Su-25UTG deck assault aircraft.
History Su-28
It was decided to upgrade combat training variant T8-UX to the training T8 UT-based Design Bureau. Sukhoi. The idea belonged to Marshal AN Efimov, who was trying to displace the course with training centers pilot training Czechoslovakian L-39.
On the basis of the task, the first flight model T8-UB1 was sent for revision. To improve the performance characteristics of the machine it was planned by facilitating its takeoff weight. It was necessary to remove all installations and weapons systems, aiming equipment. On the gun compartment and instead of the station "Maple" staged Rooms', and bow section of the fuselage took a centering weight. On the wing instead of setting "washed down" also appeared paneling.
In July, the completion of 1987-25 Su UT ended successfully, and in August this year, the aircraft first flew. He had planned to present at the Tushino airfield to the public in honor of the Day of Air Fleet.
The plane managed to land the first time on turf, indicating good calculations in the design of the device (directed by plane during landing personally MP Simonov, who served as Chief Designer).
However, to take part in the celebration of the Su-28 and failed. He participated in aviasorevnovaniyah, which took place in Volgograd. The crew showed good results and got the bronze medal.
Improvement of the model continued 2 years. In the early summer of 1989 released an upgraded version of the Su-28M, which together with the Cy-25 presented to the public at the air show in Le Bourget (France). Also, it was shown at the air show in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, in the Philippines.
The serial production of Su-28 not enrolled because of the surging wave of the crisis related to the dissolution of the USSR. On its basis in the future we built a training deck shturmovikSu-25UTG.
Description and application of Su-28
The plane is a simplified modification of the Su-25Ub, which reduce the size of weapons and equipment.
The crew of the aircraft is designed for two people. The purpose was to train novice pilots flying techniques, piloting, working out aerobatics.
Education on the Su-28 could make the cadet, who had mastered the piston aircraft, trained pilots.
The training on this aircraft performs the following flight training:

Learning techniques of the car in the "blind flight";

Training in emergency operation mode: failure of engines, navigation equipment and other aircraft systems.

The design provides for installation on a plane four external fuel tanks, the capacity of each of which is 800 liters, and dropping them in the mode of an emergency landing.
From its predecessor, the Su-25UB aircraft by the absence of the following components and systems:

Su-28 - the aircraft, which was supposed to be a simulator for the novice pilots. Its peculiarity is that it is as close as possible in terms of parameters, and in appearance and sensation from piloting. To obtain the initial skills of cadets, it has all the necessary equipment, as on Su-25. This aircraft allows you to learn professional piloting, as well as to work out the behavior in emergency situations, such as engine failure, navigation and aerobatic systems. Another advantage of "Sukhoi" is the unpretentiousness to operation. Not every training aircraft can boast of this quality. After all, it is important to work not only flights under normal conditions, but also in more real ones. Especially takeoff and landing. And here 28-oh presents a pleasant surprise - it can land not only on the asphalt airfield, but also on the ground. Separately, we should pay attention to strength. The aircraft is simply "unmanned". Landing with one engine off? It's possible. No kerosene? Then we fill the diesel. A lot of takeoffs and landings for one flight? Will do and will not blink an eye. I believe that the training aircraft should be unpretentious, and Su-28 has this quality to the full.
