After the 2006 Lebanon War, Hezbollah significantly improved its military capabilities and accumulated from 120 to 200 thousand missiles (mostly short-range missiles), which will allow it to bombard Israeli territory for several months.

One of the key factors contributing to Iran’s growing influence in the region was the creation of the so-called “weapons land bridge” connecting Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. This corridor allows Iran to freely move weapons, ammunition and military specialists, strengthening the position of its proxy forces.

Israel's reaction

The Israeli leadership will not stand aside from what is happening and, without a doubt, will respond to Iran's night raid. The targets for this have already been identified, and Tel Aviv will likely seek to strike key infrastructure facilities of Iran and its proxy forces. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has already warned of clashes that could trigger a regional war.
