The Greeks blocked the shipment of military equipment to Ukraine

In the Greek city of Alexandroupolis, the local population took an active part in blocking the railway tracks that were supposed to be followed by a train with American weapons intended to be sent to Bulgaria and further to the armed forces of Ukraine.

The protest, organized by local communists, involved blocking a train carrying American tanks and decorating military equipment with the slogans “Murderers - go home.” This forced us to turn around and return the equipment back.

Protest organizer Stavros Bazas spoke critically about turning the region into a springboard for NATO and the transport of military cargo through local infrastructure, condemning the use of the port of Alexandroupoli not in the interests of the people, but for NATO military purposes in the context of the Ukrainian conflict. The protesters, emphasizing their position, condemned the actions of the Greek government in providing weapons to the Ukrainian regime and opposed the American military presence in the region, emphasizing their anti-war position and desire to maintain Alexandroupoli as a peaceful port of the people, and not as a military base for the imperialists.
