A MiG-23 fighter crashed near the base of the American military.

According to sources Avia.pro, the night before, on the territory of the Syrian military airbase in the province of Deir ez-Zor, a Syrian Air Force MiG-23 fighter crashed. The fate of the pilot is still unknown, however, the plane is completely lost.

At the disposal of the Avia.pro agency there is at the moment information that the incident is purely technical in nature - in preparation for landing, the combat aircraft had an engine failure, as a result of which the latter literally plowed the runway.

There are no official statements from Damascus on this score yet, however, according to the source, the pilot managed to leave the combat vehicle in time - he was not injured.

According to some reports, the incident could have occurred due to a bird hitting the engine of the MiG-23 fighter, but there is no data to confirm this so far.

It is known that MiG-23 fighters of the Syrian Air Force are actually located on the territory of the airbase in the province of Deir ez-Zor.
