The controversial situation in northeastern Syria, where both US and Russian military patrols are present, has forced the US Army to call in an AH-64 Apache combat helicopter to cover its forces. One of the likely reasons for this is Russia's refusal to recognize this region of Syria as being under the control of American forces, which has repeatedly resulted in problems for the US army.

“US Armed Forces AH-64 Apache attack helicopters were spotted today over the Syrian city of El Malikiyah (Derik). This is most likely about the air cover of the ground patrol ", - says the source.

Two days earlier, a Russian military patrol was indeed spotted in the area, covered by Mi-8 and Mi-35 helicopters, which probably indicates the fact that the US military was expecting possible clashes with the Russian military police.

It should be noted that earlier in one of the incidents, a Russian armored vehicle rammed an American armored car, as a result of which four American servicemen were injured - after which the American side stopped escalating.
