Russia has dealt a double blow to militants in Syria using Iskander tactical missile systems.

A few hours ago, the Russian military command in Syria issued an order to launch two missile strikes on the positions of pro-Turkish jihadists in the Arab Republic using Iskander tactical missile systems. Media resources initially reported that the strike was carried out with the use of Kalibr cruise missiles from the area of ​​the Russian naval base in Tartus, however, later residents of the town of Jebla reported that the missiles were launched from the territory of the Russian military airbase Khmeimim.

The footage shows the first moments after the Russian military attacked jihadist formations near the Turkish positions. The reason for the strike by the Iskander OTRK was probably the need for surprise, especially since, according to sources, another jihadist training camp was hit.

In addition to the Iskander missile strikes, bomb strikes were also carried out with the use of military aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces deployed on the territory of the Khmeimim airfield, which indicates that the operation was carefully planned like all the previous ones.

Experts also drew attention to the fact that just a few hours before the strikes, an Il-62 board of the Russian Defense Ministry arrived in Syria.
