Proposed new layout fighter F-35

Lockheed Martin Corporation has proposed a new layout of the F-35

Warspot reports that the American fifth-generation F-35 fighter can receive additional air-to-air missiles without external sling. For this, Lockheed Martin has proposed a new layout of the fighter's internal compartments. We are talking about the F-35A and F-35C.

The basic version of the F-35 for air combat has four missiles located in the internal compartments. When changing the design of the aircraft, as Lockheed Martin specialists determined, in each of the compartments of the new versions of the fighters it will be possible to place three missiles instead of two, as at present. A new layout cannot be performed on the F-35B Sidekick. This aircraft has an additional engine that provides vertical take-off and landing.

Now everything depends on the Pentagon. If the military department approves the new project, the F-35A and F-35C fighters will receive additional missiles for air combat. Probably, the decision of the Pentagon will depend on the amount of costs that will be required for the implementation of the program.

The new version of the F-35 in the USA is called the answer to the Boeing F-15X. This aircraft can carry over twenty air-to-air missiles. The Pentagon said that the purchase of F-35, for the sake of the fourth-generation aircraft, will not be reduced.
