Transnistria turned to Russia for help due to Moldova's actions

In conditions of the economic crisis caused by pressure from Moldova, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) turned to the Russian Federation for help. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev in an interview with Financial Times journalists, clarifying that such a decision was made at a congress of deputies of all levels, held on February 28 in Tiraspol.

Ignatiev expressed concern about the current state of affairs in the republic, emphasizing that economic pressure from Chisinau has led to serious financial difficulties. Because of them, the PMR authorities were faced with the impossibility of paying salaries, pensions and social benefits on time.

In addition, the health situation in the region is also under threat. The Foreign Minister pointed out the catastrophic consequences caused by restrictions on the import of medical supplies and equipment, which led to a shortage of medicines and rising prices for them. In this regard, it was decided to turn to the International Committee of the Red Cross for support.

Transnistria, not recognized by most countries of the world, has been in a state of “frozen conflict” with Moldova for many years. The current aggravation of the situation emphasizes the complexity of the situation in the region, which is in dire need of international support and mediation to solve the accumulated problems.
