Moscow did not see the circumstances necessary for the transfer of the 9М729 rocket to Washington.

According to Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, a demonstration of the Russian 9М729 cruise missile to specialists from Washington and the transfer of this missile for studying foreign specialists are not expedient.

“The demonstration of this rocket would be a manifestation on our part of increased transparency, going far beyond the framework of this Treaty. Until we had the feeling that such a step is justified both from a political and a technical point of view. ”- declared Ryabkov.

According to the American side, the Russian cruise missile 9М729 violates the terms of the Treaty on the Elimination of Medium-Range and Short-Range Missiles, and Moscow’s current refusal to demonstrate the capabilities of the missile is an attempt to "hide important facts."

Experts do not exclude that the United States purposefully strives to withdraw from the INF Treaty with a view to developing its own weapons, in this connection, attempts to accuse Russia of developing prohibited weapons are merely a search for a reason to withdraw from the current treaty.
