Russian tourists cannot fly from Hurghada for more than 16 hours due to a plane breakdown

A group of Russian tourists encountered an unpleasant situation at Hurghada airport, being held hostage by a technical malfunction of an AlMasria Universal Airlines Airbus A320-200 aircraft. The flight to Moscow, scheduled for 180 pm the previous day, was delayed due to an on-board computer failure, forcing about 12 passengers, including families with children and elderly people, to spend more than XNUMX hours at the airport.

According to passengers, the malfunction was discovered just before takeoff, when the plane was already on the runway. After the technical problems were announced over the public address system, passengers were transferred back to the airport, where they spent more than two hours on board waiting for the problem to be resolved.

The parties responsible for serving tourists, including tour operator Coral Travel, have not yet provided concrete solutions to accommodate stranded travelers or compensation for inconvenience. The food offerings also left much to be desired, with only a bun and water available to passengers, with additional food required to be paid for.

Due to the lack of comfortable conditions for rest and overnight, some tourists were forced to seek alternative accommodation options within the airport, including using the baggage security line as a place to sleep.
