Nine people have been detained in Tajikistan on suspicion of possible involvement in the perpetrators of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in the Moscow region, a source in the special services told RIA Novosti.

“Nine residents of the Vakhdat district were detained for connections with the persons who committed the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall on March 22 and for connections with the terrorist organization ISIS * (Islamic State *, banned in Russia and Tajikistan - ed.),” – said the news agency's interlocutor.

It is clarified that the arrests took place in the city of Vahdat. This city is the birthplace of one of the suspected terrorists, Dalerjon Mirzoev**, and was also the location of the local prison where Shamsiddin Fariduni** served his sentence.

He noted that security forces from Russia took part in the operation to detain suspects related to sabotage at Crocus City Hall.

“These nine suspects were detained by employees of the State Committee for National Security during joint investigative measures with Russian colleagues located in Dushanbe,” the source said.

He added that the Tajik special services are cooperating with their Russian colleagues as part of the investigation into the terrorist attack in the Moscow region during investigative measures and arrests.
