On Wednesday evening, Belgorod and the Belgorod region were subjected to large-scale shelling, as a result of which more than 180 apartments, 12 socially significant objects and 65 cars were damaged. The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced the seriousness of the incident in his Telegram channel, pointing to the attack of the Ukrainian army on 8 municipalities of the region on March 27. During the aggression, 11 artillery shells were fired and 20 drone attacks were carried out, including 6 explosive devices dropped by drones.

According to the head of the region, the attacks caused significant damage to residential and social infrastructure: 40 apartment buildings, 73 private households, as well as 20 objects and 110 cars were damaged. In the city of Belgorod, an enemy UAV crashed into an administrative building, resulting in injuries to two people and material damage to the building and one car.

To enhance security in the region, an air defense system was used, which, according to statements by the Ministry of Defense, shot down 16 Vampire MLRS shells over the region. Also, 3 aircraft-type drones were shot down over the villages of Otradnoye, Repnoye and Novaya Derevnya, and a kamikaze drone attack was carried out on the village of Nikolskoye.
