The S-500 Prometheus will enter service with the RF Armed Forces in the near future.

"RIA Novosti" quotes Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, talking about the newest air defense system S-500.

While at the Army-2019 forum, he said that in the near future these systems will be put into service with the Russian army.

Earlier, Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu especially noted that deliveries of these air defense systems to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will begin in 2020. However, it is likely that this will happen earlier.

Deputy Prime Minister Borisov said at the forum that preliminary tests of the S-500 were successful. That is why the Ministry of Defense decided that the timing of the start of deliveries of new systems to the troops could be shortened.

It is no secret that there are no analogues of the S-500 anti-aircraft missile system in the world. Now her tests are continuing. They are necessary to identify all of its combat capabilities.

SAM S-500 can be operated for up to 25 years. In the coming years, it will become the main system in the Russian armed forces.

The Turkish leadership previously announced its readiness to participate in cooperation with Russia in the creation of the S-500.
