Facebook is going to take place in Africa, the Internet using drones

04 March 2014 A well-known social network is negotiating the acquisition of TitanAerospace, which specializes in the manufacture of drones.

The amount of the transaction, according to unofficial data may amount to about 60 million dollars. The company, under the terms of the agreement, will make for FaceBook a minimum of 11000 UAVs of the Solara 60 type, working on solar energy and capable of being in the air for about five years.

Facebook intends to use them for the Internet.org project, whose main goal is to connect five billion people from around the world (mainly the population of poor countries in Africa) to the Internet.

Google Corporation presented its own project of bringing the Internet to the poorest and hard-to-reach regions of the planet back in July 2013, which is going to use balloons to "distribute" the Internet.
