US Air Force F-16 fighter, attacking an unknown object over Lake Huron, missed on the first attempt

An American F-16 overshot an unknown aircraft over Lake Huron.

An unidentified aircraft over Lake Huron, video footage of which was previously published by Avia.pro journalists, was shot down only on the second attempt. As it turned out, the first AIM-9X Sidewinder missile missed its target, as a result of which a second launch had to be carried out, after which the aircraft was shot down.

According to official data, the first attempt could have failed due to the fact that the downed aircraft had low radar visibility, and besides, it carried a special multifaceted object that could well interfere with missile guidance.

It is noteworthy that the cost of one AIM-9X Sidewinder missile is about 400 thousand dollars. This means that in order to destroy the aircraft, the Pentagon had to spend quite a lot of money.

It is known that the object itself has already been discovered by the military and is currently being studied. According to unofficial data, among the discovered "important electronics" there are components that make it possible to assert that the aircraft was conducting reconnaissance.
