Typhoon fighters staged a pursuit of the Russian military aircraft.

According to the information provided by The Aviationist, the Eurofighter Typhoon fighters staged a pursuit of the Russian long-range anti-submarine aircraft Tu-142MK, which carried out a planned flight in the northern part of the region. It is known that at least two Italian Air Force fighters approached the Russian plane, which were transferred a week before to the Keflavik air base (Iceland).

According to reports, the Italian fighter jets carried out the escort of the Russian anti-submarine aircraft for quite a long time, while no dangerous convergence was recorded - the distance between the Italian Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets and the Russian Tu-142MK was at least 100-150 meters.

It is known that the Russian military aircraft was exclusively in the international airspace, without representing any threat to the NATO countries, which raises a number of questions regarding the exact reason why the NATO fighters pursued and escorted the Russian anti-submarine aircraft.
