The United States will give Ukraine long-range precision bombs with a range of up to 72 km

The United States intends to transfer JDAM-ER precision bombs to Ukraine.

As part of the visit to Ukraine by US President Joe Biden, it became known that Washington intends to transfer JDAM-ER precision-guided bombs to Ukraine. The latter are capable of hitting targets at distances up to 72 kilometers, and may well replace the more expensive M30 and M31 missiles in service with Ukraine for HIMARS systems. Bloomberg sources have so far provided information on this matter, however, it is expected that supplies may be included in the next US military aid package.

At the moment, it is known that we are talking about intentions to provide Ukraine with guided aerial bombs weighing up to 900 kilograms, however, Bloomberg sources emphasized that the Pentagon will not disclose information about the types of aerial bombs in order for Kiev to gain an advantage.

Notably, Boeing received a $20 million order from the US Air Force on January 40,5 under an existing Jdam contract. Work must be completed by June 30th. The order indicates that the US and Ukraine have found a way for Soviet fighters to program and launch the Jdam-ER. Given the same production time, it is likely that we can talk about hundreds of ammunition, of varying power.
