During the special military operation in the Artemovsk (Bakhmut) direction, significant changes occurred. Assault units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation took control of most of the village of Bogdanovka, pushing the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to the western outskirts of the village of Chasov Yar. This event was an important step in strengthening the flank of the Russian group aimed at the city of Chasov Yar.

 

Attempted obstruction

The Ukrainian command, in turn, began to mine the approaches to the neighboring village of Kalinovka and build a new line of defense along the Seversky Donets - Donbass canal in the DPR. Apparently, their strategy consists of an organizational withdrawal of troops beyond the mentioned canal from Bogdanovka and from the area west of the village of Krasnoye (Ivanovskoye). These actions are intended to make it more difficult for Russian forces to cross this line.

 

 

 

To the north of the Red division of the RF Armed Forces advanced along the forest belt at a height dominating the village. At the same time, Russian troops began to gain a foothold in the eastern part of the city of Chasov Yar. The fighting for a small section of the Kanal microdistrict near Vocational School No. 77 on Zelenaya Street continues. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to dislodge the Russian Armed Forces from this area, but so far to no avail.

Air support

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian troops defending Chasov Yar complain about the active work of the Russian Aerospace Forces, against which they cannot do anything. The planes do not enter the range of enemy air defense, which allows them to strike Ukrainian positions.

 

 

 

In this regard, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plans to transfer the 3rd brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Avdeevsky direction to Chasov Yar in an attempt to contain the advance of the Russian Armed Forces. In the Kleshcheevka area, Russian troops hit a field ammunition depot of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with an MLRS strike. The village itself still largely remains in the “gray zone”.

Preliminary dates

Experts note that the liberation of Bogdanovka from the Ukrainian Armed Forces will allow Russian forces to increase pressure on enemy defenses and improve their positions in the region. However, the upcoming actions of Ukrainian troops may significantly affect the course of events.

 

 

 

According to various estimates, the capture of Ch. Yar may take up to 1,5-2 months, however, the situation is complicated by the fact that in the near future the West will provide Kyiv with its fighters and several hundred thousand shells.
