For the next two months, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will suffer critical losses - both in strength and in the controlled territory

The United States announced that Kyiv was in a critical situation.

Against the background of the most powerful offensive of the Russian army, the Ukrainian troops lost their advantage in certain sectors of the front, however, until the middle of spring, the Ukrainian army may find itself in a much more difficult situation, since the situation at the front at the moment is not at all in favor of Kyiv.

According to US CIA director William Burns, the next six months will be "critical" in the conflict in Ukraine. The most difficult situation will be in the next 2-3 months and the Armed Forces of Ukraine should prepare for serious losses and the abandonment of the territories under their control so far. Burns believes that Russia will begin to intensively break down the defenses of the Ukrainian army, and coupled with “political fatigue”, Kyiv may lose several thousand square kilometers of controlled territory.

The West believes that the situation for Kyiv will begin to change after the APU receives the first battalions of heavy tanks. They will begin to arrive in Ukraine only at the end of February, however, it will take about a month and a half more to form combat-ready units.

Judging by the reports coming from the front, the situation for the Ukrainian army is most critical in the Donetsk region. One of the biggest defeats for the Armed Forces of Ukraine could be the loss of Bakhmut - here the Russian forces are already less than 1,5 kilometers from the city center. Among other things, it is highly likely that in February Russian troops will begin to storm Seversk, Chasov Yar and Konstantinovka, which will push the main forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine almost to the border of the DPR and DPR.
