Israel prepares to retaliate against Iran

The Israeli government will discuss the possibility of retaliating against Iran at a meeting today after an overnight attack in which Tehran launched missile strikes on Israeli military targets. This was announced by IDF spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner. Iran used tactics similar to the actions of the Russian Armed Forces, first launching attack drones to create gaps in air defenses, then followed by ballistic missiles.

Analysts note that despite the effective work of Israeli air defense, which intercepted most of the attacking drones and missiles, Iran declared the operation a success. Seven missiles were reported to have hit Nevatim Air Base in the Negev Desert, where fifth-generation F-35I Adir fighter jets are based. However, in the morning the airbase resumed its work, which indicates minimal damage and Tehran’s data that does not correspond to reality.

Israel, having announced plans to respond to aggression, intends to coordinate its actions with the United States. According to media reports, Washington insists on the need for such agreement, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation and the possible risks of escalation of the conflict.
