The Syrian Ministry of Defense reported Israeli missile strikes on several military targets in the vicinity of Damascus, the Syrian capital. The attack occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. local time, causing "property damage."

Some social media posts claimed that Israel was targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to Reuters, the IRGC has increased the number of its senior officers in Syria.

“Israeli forces began their air aggression from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights, targeting several military points in the vicinity of Damascus. Our air defense forces responded to the aggression and shot down several missiles, losses were limited to material damage.”, the ministry added.

A similar statement earlier Sunday indicated that an Israeli attack had wounded a Syrian soldier.
