Qatar, Kuwait and Oman are ready to transfer NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine

The United States has offered its allies in the Middle East to share NASAMS systems with Ukraine.

Due to the fact that the American NASAMS air defense systems can be transferred to Ukraine only by 2025 (and we are talking about six batteries, which in total include 72 launchers), the United States began negotiations on the transfer of these systems by the countries of the Middle East to Ukraine to provide air cover space. Washington promises to compensate such deliveries to the countries of the Middle East within six months.

At the moment, it is known that negotiations on the supply of NASAMS air defense systems to Ukraine are underway with countries such as Oman, Qatar and Kuwait. It is known that the Middle Eastern countries expect more promising proposals from the United States. In particular, we are talking about the sale of certain types of weapons, including long-range air defense systems, fighter jets, helicopters and tanks.

It is known that these countries have at least 9 NASAMS SAM batteries. This fully allows the latter to conclude an appropriate deal with the United States, however, at the moment there is a bargaining for obtaining American weapons.

The objective effectiveness of the use of NASAMS air defense systems already in service with Ukraine remains unknown, however, according to the American and Ukrainian side, it is 100% against cruise missiles.
