The number of test launches of the Sarmat missile was reduced to two

The Russian military decided to reduce the number of test launches of the heavy Sarmat ICBM.

Sources in the country's military-industrial complex report that two test launches of the Sarmat heavy intercontinental ballistic missile will be carried out in 2021, although it was originally planned to carry out three launches. Moreover, the source clarifies that the first test will be carried out in September, while it was originally supposed to carry out the first launch in August.

At the moment, the fact remains unknown what the abbreviated test program of the heavy Sarmat ICBM is connected with, however, experts do not exclude that this may be caused by the unfinished construction of launch complexes. At least other reasons for this are not considered.

Today it is known that the development of the Sarmat heavy intercontinental ballistic missile has been fully completed. If the tests are completed successfully, then next year the missile can be adopted by Russia.

Russia's development of the heavy Sarmat ICBM is aimed primarily at containing the West. The missile's capabilities are such that one strike can easily destroy a small country or an entire state.
